I arrived to Singapore today in the afternoon! Next week I'll be working from Adyen's local office (really looking forward to it!), but for now I got the weekend to look around, for which I'm really grateful and happy.
Managed to find the accomodation by around 18h30 local time (buses are cheap, but the time tables are not the most predictable honestly...). After dinner, I walked around the area.
I found the F1 Marina Bay Circuit (it was a big surprise, that the race takes place next week!), was really awesome seeing it.
I also encountered live music every corner - makes the city feel really cozy. Makes me wonder, is it normal on every Saturday or is there a special reason for it?
Everything is illuminated. Saw a laser show as well, but it was over by the time I reached the area. It is really awesome to walk around the city during the night.
Restaurants are really varied. Checked out a 7eleven as well, offered a lot of Japanese products (Oishii drinks, onigiri, ...). Went for the strangest thing I could find. The salted cheese milk oolong tea is really great!

Ma délután értem Szingapúrba. Jövő héten a helyi Adyen irodából fogok dolgozni, kíváncsian várom. A hétvégét viszont nagy örömömre megkaptam körülnézni.
A szállást jó este fél 7-re találtam meg. A buszok ugyan olcsóak, de a menetrend nem túl pontos sem kiszámítható. Vacsi után sétálgattam a környéken.
Ráleltem a Marina öböl F1-es pályára (tök jó, hogy pont jövő héten lesz), élvezet volt látni.
Élő zene van minden sarkon, nagyon hangulatos az egész. Kíváncsi lennék ez általános, vagy kivételes alkalom.
Minden ki van világítva. A távolban lézeres fényjáték is volt, csak sajnos abbamaradt, mire megközelítettem. Nagyon hangulatos itt este sétálni.
A kajáldák is sokszínűek. Egy 7elevenbe is benéztem, eléggé hasonlít a japánra (onigiri, oishii italok),... A legfurább italt igyekeztem választani: sós sajtos oolong tea. Szuper jó! XD

As planned, went for the DUCK tour. Right before, it started to rain like a crazy, but luckily didn't last long. Those vehicles they carry us around are monstrous, pretty fun to ride on.
After I visited the Gardens By The Bay. I checked out both the Cloud (this one have a serious Laputa vibe to it) and the Flower Domes, then walked around the outer gardens, but in the end missed the Supertrees. Those I would like to check out still, during the light show times. In the end didn't wait for it, as I really wanted to have dinner by then. Well then, another day next week hopefully.

Ahogy terceztem, a DUCK tourra mentem. Pont előtte őrült módjára elkezdett szakadni az eső, de szerencsére nem tartott sokáig. Azok a járművek meg tök érdekesek, jó volt utazgatni az egyikkel.
Utána a Gardens By The Bay-t mentem meglátogatni. Bejártam a Felhő és virág kupolákat (előbbi totál Laputa), majd sétáltam a külső kertekben. A szuperfák sajnos kimaradtak, azokhoz tervezek visszamenni a fényjátékra. Most már nem vártam meg, mert már nagyon szerettem volna vacsizni. Na majd jövő héten sort kerítek rá remélhetőleg. :) 2

So I had my first two days at the office. A similarly open office, like ours in Amsterdam, but a lot smaller. Everyone knows each other, and is really friendly. A lot of us comes and goes, visiting from other offices, and so do the collegues from here travel a lot. For lunch we go out, the surrounding mall's undergrounds can be actually pretty cheap (like 5-6 SGD a full meal!), and offer really good food.
After dinner we also went out together to talk, eat, and before plat a match of tabletenni. Really nice!

Na megvolt az első két munkanap itt kint. Az amszterdami irodához hasonlóan nyitott, de jóval kisebb. Mindenki ismeri egymást. Nagy a jövés-menés, jönnek a többi irodából és a helyiek is látogatják a környékieket. Ebédre kimegyünk. A környéki plázák alagsorában szuper olcsó kaja is van, 5-6 SGD (kb 1000 HUF), és ezért elég kiadósat és finomat kapni. Este meg együtt vacsizunk, beszélgetünk, pingpongozunk.

Today in the morning I visited the Fort Canning Park, which is right next to the office. Mostly worked on the release and picked up some tasks for the Singaporean office.
In the evening I decided to visit the Raffles city for some kaya cream and sambal, and since already there, also tried a small portion of salmon sushi there - it was so great!
After I went back to the hotel to drop off my bag, then quickly left for the Supertree
Garden Rhapsody - got there right at the start. This light show has a different theme each month, this time it was musicals. It was really nice with all those tall trees in colors and with the familiar tunes! After I had like 3 minutes until the Marina Bay Spectra - ran off to reach it. Just got there on time, though unfortunately stayed up, while it would have been probably a lot better from down there. It's the type, the lazer goes over the fountains' water, forming a 3d motion picture.
Then went to the Chinese district to get some tea at the Tea Chapter. It is a really great place! I wanted to get some proper tea trays (for a change not to order the next one from China, as I haven't seen one in Amsterdam), but unfortunately they were out of stock. Still got some nice teas (Huangjin Gui, Hong Guan Ying and some ripe puerla). On the way home I strolled around the area and stopped by a durian stall. I stood there, then turned back and started to leave (no way! >.<). Then turned again (ah, well...). Then stopped - then the seller said he will just give me some at a discount. XD So I had my first experience with the fresh durian as well! Well, uh. XD

Reggel a Canning Fortba látogattam meló előtt, ami pont az iroda mellett van. Aztán napközben release-elgettem, meg dolgozgattam hekyi feladatokon.
Meló után a Raffles City plázába mentem kayáért és sambalért, makd ha már ott, egy kis lazac sashimit is beszereztem - szuper volt!
Beszaladtam a hotelbe lecuccolni, majdindultam a Supertree Garden Rhapsody előadásra - pont elértem. Minden hónapban más a témája, ezúttal musicelek volt. Tök jól néztek azok a magas faszerű tornyok a zenére kivilágítva! Utána 3 percem volt átérni a Marina Bay Specra fényjátékra - szerencsére ezt is elértem. Sajnos viszont fentről néztem, valószínűleg lentről lett volna jobb. Ez olyan, hogy a szökőkutak vízén keresztül átmenve a lézerfény formáz mozgó 3d-s képet.
Aztán a kínai negyedbe soettem a Tea Chapterbe teáert. Jó lett volna rendes teatálcát venni (rendelni szoktuk, mert nem láttunk nagyon Amszterdamban - otthon a Flying Birdben mondjuk szokott lenni), de sajna kifogytak. Szereztem viszont fincsi teákat (Huangjin Gui, Hong Guan Ying meg kis érlelt puerla teákat). Hazafele sétálgattam még a környéken, meg mrmegálltam egy duriant áruló pultnál. Nézegettem, majd sarkonfordultam (ezt azért mégsem!). Aztán mégis visszafordultam (na jó, csak ki kéne próbálni...). Végül kaptam rá kedvezményt - és végre kipróbáltam. Hát, uhh. XD

So it's time to go home. I really enjoyed my stay here, was really great to get to know the people of Singapore - and those, who are in the Amsterdam one, but I just never met them somehow.
Yesterday after work, we again went out for dinner and some drinks. Was really enjoyable! Also I got to see a bit of the Formula-1 circuit with the drivers circling on it while walking around in the city (I originally planned to try the Singapore Flyer, the highest ferris wheel in the world until 2014, but just couldn't manage to get there in a reasonable time, as it is inside the circuit)!
Due to the need to pack up, I got to sleep only somewhere around 3am, while I got up before 8am (might be due to the rain, my alarm was set for later). Hence a bit sleepy now, but otherwise the day went really well. Visited the TopTree Walk (was recommended by Mate's team lead), which was unbelievably great. Not often do you walk in the rainforest, right? Let along cross a suspension bridge 25m above the ground, going right above the canopies.
Anyhow, thanks all for having me over, it was really great! 👍

Itt az ideje hazamenni. Jó volt itt lenni és megismerni a szingapúri kollégákat (meg azokat az amszterdamiakat, akiket valahogy eddig nem sikerült).
Tegnap meló után ismét közösen vacsiztunk, majd italoztunk. Tök jó volt! A városban sétálva pedig még a Forma 1 pályára is beláttam. Eredetileg a Singapore Flyerhez akartam eljutni - ami a világ legmagasabb óriáskereke volt 2014-ig, aztán kb 2m-rel el lett verve... -, de képtelenség volt belátható idő alatt megközelíteni, mert pont a versenypályán belülre esik.
A csomagolás miatt jó 3 után mentem aludni, aztán meg már 8 előtt ébredtem (talán a szakadó eső miatt, mert az ébresztőt későbbre állítottam). Úgyhogy most álmosan, de ennek ellenére jól alakult a nap. Máté csoportvezetőjének javaslatára a TopTree Walkot néztem meg, ami giga király volt. Nem gyakran sétál az ember őserdőben, vagy éppen megy keresztül egy 25m magas függőhídon a lombozat felett!
